I also think cherries would be taller, maybe peaches, both are Prunus sp.
It seems that cherries are grown on Sauvie island (http://www.sauvieislandfarms.com/Crop_Chart.htm). Could these be cherry trees? They seem a bit too squat, but maybe it is the variety, how they are grown commercially, etc.
I don't think there is commercial almond production in Oregon, but obviously some type of fruit or nut orchard.
