Field Notes

Description:

About 14mm long. An unusual type of fly with caramel and chocolate stripes. The head had a dark stripe in the centre of two pale ones and the thorax seemed to have the reverse. Very short abdomen. Very clear wings. Very banded legs.

Habitat:

Hiding under a eucalyptus leaf in a local national park.
