Field Notes

Description:

This Tiger Moth was 3 cm (1.2 inches) long, and had its lovely chocolate-coloured wings slightly raised to give a good view of its lovely orange-polka-dotted body.
Same species: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6941588

Habitat:

Hills overlooking Manila.

Notes:

I tapped its wings (very gently!) and this was the result. Am assuming that it was feeling threatened, so was raising its wings to look bigger... Am I correct, moth-experts?
