Field Notes

Description:

Small shark with brown stripes and tiny spots. Gorgeous bright, crystal blue eyes.

Habitat:

Spotted at Sea World, San Diego

Recently spent some time on Catalina Island and we had a swell shark in the touch tank at the lab and it sort of resembled this...The coloration is keeping me from saying it's definitely a swell shark but the patterns of Swell sharks and leopard sharks can be sort of similar... Btw I'm no shark expert, just a hunch.
This is probably a species of Leopard Shark... anybody know which one?
