Description:

There must have been hundreds of these beautiful geese. I think the sunset made their legs appear more reddish than they really are. First photos of these birds in the wild on Project Noah!

Habitat:

On a tiny strip of land in the bay close to shore

Notes:

I made sure to go find these before leaving Kodiak for the holidays. I have been told they come to this same spot each year around this time. I was not disappointed! They are listed as Near Threatened.
