Description:

Family: Noctuidae, Subfamily: Noctuinae, Tribes: Tholerini and Hadenini (Large Arches - Moth) Larva of Hitched Arches Moth. Total length: No long than 1.25 inches long (31.75 mm) First one: Medium bronzy brown and dark brown. Second one: Greenish brown and dark brown. Host plants are aster, alder, clover, elm and plaintain. Found on white asters.

Habitat:

Meadow

Notes:

I found two caterpillars on the same white aster plant, but one was resting on top of a fallen leaf.
