Field Notes

Description:

The Clown of the sea - The Puffin

Habitat:

This species breeds on the coasts of northern Europe, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and eastern North America, from well within the Arctic Circle to northern France and Maine. The winter months are spent at sea far from land - in Europe as far south as the Mediterranean, and in North America

Notes:

Here you could get very close to the puffins here at the Látrabjarg Cliffs, they were quite tame and obviously used to people. This one had no problem posing for a few shots before he went off on his hunt for sand eels once again.
