Field Notes

Description:

Almost 2" long, deep purple, shiny. Mean looking pinchers.

Habitat:

Woods and groves, per Wikipedia. This one was in a small town right in the Luberon national park.

Notes:

Walked up a few steps to an ATM in a small village in Provence, France this summer. Was holding the handrail and jumped a couple feet as I basically grazed this guy. He sat tight and waited patiently for me to take his picture.
