Description:

The green heron is a small heron. This juvenile was so still that I have a few pictures of the wrong area of the mangroves! It is beautifully camouflaged for this environment.

Habitat:

Shorelines. This spotting was made along the FL gulf coast.

Notes:

The Green Heron is protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
