Yes, it is hard to tell because it was sunset and I did not have the flash on the camera. But I did look at the shape of the tail and its long. I had a hard time figuring it out, because I am new at identifying birds ext..
Alice was close with beak...about Rose-breasted Grosbeak.. But this birds tail bare it as Cardinal...!!

I lightened your picture and I would say it is not a cardinal, but in that family with that kind of beak. It might be a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak, but that is as close as I can come with what we have to work with.
Must be cardinal... There are some mimic birds... if you check entire weeks spottings and see all Cardinal spottings.
