think auntnance has it, looks to small to be a wood pigeon egg so prob feral pigeon or collard dove.

I bet someone threw a chicken egg out of their car.

looks like a pigeon egg - were there pigeon lofts near by? late in the summer would suggest all round layer. Hard shell so not a snake egg - That's all i have.
