Field Notes

Description:

A small spider with a bright lemon-yellow rounded abdomen with pale markings and brown patterns. The spider would have been about 3 to 4 mm wide. The cephalothorax and legs were green. Legs showed brown banding.

Habitat:

Spotted on kangaroo Thorn (Acacia paradoxa), blending perfectly with the globose yellow flower head. Legs looked so like the bown tipped green spikes.

Notes:

Probably a Diaea species but yet to look for an ID.

You're probably right about the species Martin but I'll check once again because the head/thorax was so much smaller. Still I might not find a better match. Thanks., I'll come back to it soon.
Nice flower spider Certainly Diaea again. Probably D. evanida http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_spiders/FlowerSpider.htm
