Description:

Bright red cap.cream colour gills.white stem.gills are fine.cap is sticky .stem is spongy inside has purple stain on outside. Spore colour white

Habitat:

Woods

Could be a Russula lepida, seeing that the stem has purple stains.
Very similar to a mushroom I spotted the other day. The suggestions here give me something to go on. Thanks everybody.
