Field Notes

Description:

Some Ganoderma?

About 15cm wide (the first to specimens), pores present. Under surface white, darkening when bruised. Concentric rings with different collors in the upper surface, I think, darkening with age.
It's very, very hard to cut... so rubbery.

Habitat:

In a living tree (family Fabaceae), sprouting from trunk (when from trunk, very close to the ground, a maximum of about 10cm high) and roots. Apparently from the roots, because some specimens where sprouting "from the ground"... I think in reallity they were attached to the tree's roots.

Notes:

Found in the rainy season, in Brasilia, Brazil, in the Universidade de Brasilia (University of Brasilia).
