Description:
This particular lizard is actually called a five lined skink. It has five white to cream stripes on its back. The color of the skink is usually brownish gray color. The juvenile skinks have the blue going towards the tail as the adults grow out of their blue and become the brownish gray color. The skinks defense mechanism is when feeling threatened its tail will fall off.
Habitat:
Skinks can be found near house sidings and under logs or boards. When laying their eggs they prefer a moist rotting area of wood. They like to eat spiders, crickets, and small insects.
