Description:

flower: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2033/#b
This part of my yard has lots of Batface flowers and Lantana flowers. The carpenter bees are all over these flowers. When the wind blows, they do seem to disappear. After the wind stops blowing, they are back, ignoring me and the butterflies.

Habitat:

The carpenter bees will burrow into clay ground or wood. Sometimes they are considered pests because they damage houses.
