Description:

The Intermediate Egret stalks its prey methodically in shallow coastal or fresh water, including flooded fields. It eats fish, frogs, crustaceans and insects.

Notes:

Can anyone confirm if this is an egret or not as I am not 100% sure

If you remember the size of the bird itself, that would help, too. Take a look at the pictures and size info for the Intermediate Egret, posted above in the ID section. I think this might be it.
The neck was what caught my eye too, but I'm new to this, so was unsure. Could it be a juvenile?
It doesn't look quite right for a Great Egret - something about the neck. Can you tell us if this shot was in the wild or captivity?
