Description:
I spotted this juvenile black-tailed deer and it's family, adjacent to Lake Doane in Portland, OR.
Habitat:

Notes:
Lake Doane is in the Northwest Industrial area of Portland, and is a hotspot in the Portland Harbor Superfund Site area. The lake is heavily contaminated with DDT (2,4-D, 2,4,5-T), dioxins and furans, isomers of dichlorobenzene, phenolic compounds, creosols, trichloroethene, BTEX, lead, and arsenic. There are many deer track directly in the Lake Doane site and evidence of deer bedding directly at the edge of the lake. This faun and several of the other deer appear to have lost hair and have large bumps which appear to be tumors.
