Description:

The spider is more orange in person. About as wide as my thumb, very common to see many here during late Summer/Early Fall and makes wide webs all over in shrubs mainly.

If you only had the underside. The Hentz's Orbweaver Spider (Neoscona crucifera) is my guess. It has variable colors from dark brown to orange. I found orange. See attached. I am not totally certain though.
StephanieCobbold you are right about genus, but there are 3 orange ones that look so similar i'm not sure of which one?
This is definitely an orbweaver (family:Araneidae). Perhaps in the genus Araneus?
