Description:

Shot below our buddleia at stretch - Family: Gossamer Wings, Lycaenidae Sub: Hairstreaks, Theclinae Wingspan: 2.5-3.8cm 1.0 to 1.5inch. Above:Slate grey with distinct red/orange-capped black hindwing spots above tail. Below: Light grey with black/white line across both wings (some orange) hindwing has reddish orange -capped black spot and blue scaling above tail. Sex similar Female larger. Host plant Pea family.

Habitat:

Woodland fringes -stream margins - rural meadows.
