River side, full sun, silty soil, recently chopped cane litters the ground.

It is very likely Birdseye speedwell (Veronica persica)
I think you're right. I give it some thought. And yes, every detail is relevant, whether color, structure, texture, size or habitat. They all help to ID them in the end.
Hmm, I'm not convinced, the coloring and texture of the petals are slightly different, and these have two pollen antennae (or whatever you call them, see bottom right flower for example). I'm new to the game, so not sure if those observations are relevant.
