Description:

Indian Pipe is generally rare but is common in many parts of eastern North America. Indian Pipe is a parasitic plant that does not contain chlorophyll. It generates energy from photosynthetic trees through a complex relationship with fungi that it hosts.

Habitat:

Woodland area. It grows in very dark environments.
