Just doing a search on "Tomato Hornworm" and came across your beautiful spotting. Because of your detailed images I was able to match your caterpillar with the larva of a Great Ash Sphinx. Many Sphinx caterpillars look very similar. Your caterpillar has distinctive markings and coloration that distinguish it from it's cousin, Manduca quinquemaculata. Please note the pale stripes on the head, tomato Hornworms don't have these. http://bugguide.net/node/view/5011 Your caterpillar has seven long diagonal on the side, Tomato Hornworms have eight V-shaped stripes on the side: http://bugguide.net/node/view/133523/bgimage There are some other differences. Just take a look through the images and compare. See what you think!
This looks like a rolled up leaf - what great eyesight to spot this. Great camouflage.
@ avatb and annorion ! Thank you both for your comments and ID suggestions !
7 diagonal line is Tobacco Hornworm. Spotting with good discussion of differences: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7113764
It turns into the Five-Spotted Hawkmoth. I think that's what you have, anyway.
