Description:

This fellow seetled on our Sedum (Autumn Joy) and refused to show its back view. Family True Brush-foot, Nymphalinae Wingspan: 4.4-6.4cm 1.75 to 2.5 inch Dark brown / black with reddish orange hind-wing borders and distinct reddish orange median forewing bands:forewing has small white spots near apex. Below: forewing as above with blue scaling and paler marking :Hindwing mottled dark brown , blue and cream with bark pattern. Sex similar. Host plant Nettle family

Habitat:

Moist woodlands and margins roadside edges - river and wetland margins. gardens.
