Description:

This medium heron was spotted in the middle of the day resting in a mangrove.

Habitat:

Southern swamps and coasts, feeding especially on crustaceans. Rests in trees or near marshes. This early bird is in an area with mangroves and crabs.

Thanks!! I wasn't quite sure what it was other than a night heron when I took the pictures. The day was so bright and the mangroves shadowy. I was quite lucky to have realized he was there at all.
