Field Notes

Description:

The willet is a large sandpiper. This spotting was made in a shallow area (low tide, perhaps) near mangroves. I was especially pleased to get the picture of the willet in flight (2nd picture).

Habitat:

This is an eastern willet, living along the coast. This spotting was made on the FL gulf coast.
