Field Notes

Description:

Gesonia obeditalis is a moth species found from eastern Africa, the Seychelles, the Maldives and the Oriental tropics east to the Philippines, the Sula Islands, Australia and New Guinea.

Habitat:

On the playing field of a large campus, situated at the base of a mountain, surrounded by settlements, food gardens and disturbed forest.

Notes:

Many individuals in the mowed grass of a playing field, given to brief flights before plunging back into the grass as I walked by.
