Field Notes

Description:

Known as the lemon butterfly in norwegian because of its beautiful neon-yellow wings. A large butterfly that is common throughout Europe. Their wings resemble leaves (seen better in this spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6791103) and act as an excellent camouflage.

Notes:

The flower this butterfly sits on is called a summer-lilac (Buddleja) and is highly recommended for anyone that wants to attract LOADS of butterflies to their garden. I think I spotted around 10 different species (including this hummingbird hawk-moth: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7158049) on this single plant.
