Field Notes

Description:

Spotted these beautiful chickens in the front yard of a house in Berkeley. I do not know all the specific breeds. The black and white one with long feathers on its head is a Silver Polish Lace, the buff one may be an Orpington, the dark brown one may be a Golden Wyandotte, and the white one may be a Leghorn.

Habitat:

Urban front yard.

You're welcome! I'm no expert but I've had similar chickens before and believe that's what they are :)
Than you for the IDs Cindy! They have such great names.
Thank you for the ID artistatheart!
The black and white ones with long feathers on their heads are: Silver Polish Lace.
Lori.Tas should be able to help you identify the chickens.
I believe San Francisco also passed a similar law.
Interesting. In Sarasota, FL, there has been a new law passed so that people may keep chickens if they wish in the city limits.
