Habitat:

On top of mt diablo, California.

Notes:

Since it was so far off I could not study it's face. Black tailed.observed that it ran and trotted rather than run in Leaps and bounds like a mule deer.This could very possibly be ,a Columbian black tailed deer.

I'd agree that this is a Columbian black-tailed deer, which actually is a mule deer subspecies (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus), although some authorities believe it should be its own species.
