They are nectar eaters, and very, very fast fliers. Ours flit from blossom to blossom so quickly that by the time I get them in focus they're gone. The only one got a really good shot of was this youngster: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/2650007
Initial though was perhaps a species of bee-eater (Meropidae)?
