Description:

I know that this is a praying mantis, but I do not know the variety. We have just moved to Florida and I do not have a wildlife book yet, so I am very interested in knowing the name of this mantis. It was inside of our screened porch and when I came nearby, or when it was near a meal, it swayed back and forth (maybe to look like a twig?) It did eat a fly that I fed it. It was about 3in long, if that helps! Thanks!

Sarah, even if you're not sure of the exact species, you can still add praying mantis as the common name.
