Field Notes

Description:

Cluster of fungi on the end of a rotting log.

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest lowland forest of fir, hemlock, bigleaf maple, red alder, etc

Notes:

Found beside the horse trail in Aldergrove Lake Park.

I went back today Sept 3 and took 2 more photos to show the undersides. The prickly bumps on top go downwards. The tops are not slimy. The log they are growing on is probably a birch.
