Field Notes

Description:

A couple of 5th instar Monarch caterpillars feed on the last of this Honeyvine Milkweed

Habitat:

Urban garden

Notes:

I found these two Monarch caterpillars feeding on what was left of a Honeyvine Milkweed plant. I almost brought them inside to rear them out, but decided to let them be. Two days after this picture was taken, I found two Monarch chrysalises attached to the inside of a nearby shed.
