Field Notes

Description:

Large, brown colored mosquito, common near marshes and areas with freshwater vegetation. Females usually bite at night, though this was during the day. Larvae attach to submerged plants with a breathing siphon and obtain air through plant tissues. Female was more persistant in biting me than the asian tiger mosquitoes here.
