Field Notes

Description:

Last year I took some of this from a roadside and put it in my garden. It was a mistake because it produces a prodigious amount of young seedlings and likes to push other plants out. I should know the name, but do not remember it. It does have a pretty flower.

Habitat:

Roadsides, fields,edgtes of woods.

This is very invasive. If you can eradicate it from your landscape, you really should. The best way is to dig up from the roots any plants that you have.
Hi Alice, This is a pest plant in the hibiscus family. The seeds are hitchhikers and often are moved around by cattle.
