Field Notes

Description:

While this butterfly was classified under mainly white, the pearl sheen & some green undertones made this butterfly almost invisible to the casual passerby. I was seated on a bench & scanning when I saw her. I had walked right by her to get to the bench! Spotted in captivity; see notes.

Habitat:

Senegal to northern South Africa in lowland forested especially near clearings.

Notes:

Spotted at the Florida Museum of Natural History
Butterfly Rainforest Exhibit
