Morning Glory like prostrate creeping ground cover growing on beach area

Habitat:

Beach area from water, white sand, sunny, no shade

Notes:

Very pretty dark flower on ground cover.

With your help I only have a couple unidentified spottings. Have a friend of mine who is a fungi specialist see if he can ID the fungi.
Thanks again. I read about this on the Florida and USDA site and they list it as endangered and only verified in Palm Beach and Miami Dade. This one was a large "colony" for lack of a better word of several individual plants in a large area on the beach. Directly off the jetty. I thought it was exceptionally pretty.
