Description:

iphone photo of a young Cooper's Hawk hovering above The Presidio, San Francisco, CA.

Habitat:

North America and Mexico.

Notes:

Spotted this one while working in SF's Presidio. This noisy immature Cooper's Hawk, one of a pair the same age, would appear in the early morning hours and again in the late afternoon . It was very curious of our presence in his giant eucalyptus grove and made his known with lots of screeching and flybys.
