Not a Ruby-Throated as only one individual has ever been spotted in Arizona and it was several years ago. Karen's assessment seems accurate to me and I agree that it is most likely a Broad-tailed. Lucky!
Chin spotting, ear covert "smudginess", and what looks like a buff-colored side resembles a female Broad-tailed. It's also fairly common in the Arizona-New Mexico area. (Looked it up in the Kauffman Field Guide.) I'm not an expert on western birds... but it's just my thought. :)
Hmmm Arun, Wikipedia says they aren't distributed around the southwest, I don't think that's the one.
Yes it is, but I did not see it till I read what you told us. it is a "Find me" picture.
