Description:

it has spots on its sides and a noticeable false-eye near it's head....

Habitat:

it almost ate up all the leaves of the Madagascar Periwinkle in front of my house

The photo shows the typical resting position of an Oleander Hawkmoth late instar larva. They like to rest on the underside of a leaf stem, with their front four segments "hunched".

It's definitely some species of Sphinx moth.... I'm working on getting a better ID for you... not a whole lot of info on Philippine insects out there.
