Field Notes

Description:

When the wings are open, the male Blue-spotted Charaxes is a dark blue with lighter blue spots. Where the hind wings come together, is a white patch. The female has a even darker blue base color, lighter spotting, & the white extends to the fore wing edge following the spot pattern of the male.
Spotted in captivity; see notes.

Habitat:

Southeastern Africa.
