Field Notes

Notes:

This immature gull, this year's young, was begging and trying to get food from the adult gull. Interesting to watch. The Glaucous-winged gull is a 4 year gull, which means it takes 4 years to reach its typical adult plumage.

Hello birdlady6000. Would you be able to help me identify the Gull behind the Glaucous-winged Gull in the foreground ? I can't seem to pin it down. I appreciate your time and help with the IDS. Thank you. To answer your question the other day, I'm in Kelowna at the moment. Yes, I know where Maple Ridge is. I have been there. I have a sister that lived there, a few years back. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/16705118
