Field Notes

Description:

Small, slender brownish-green lizard with light band down its back. It decided to "play dead" when it noticed my presence.

Green anoles have the ability to change between two primary shades, green and gray-brown. Skin color may change in response to ambient temperature or sexual arousal

Habitat:

Perching on a large basil plant on an organic farm surrounded by mixed hardwood/pine forest.
