Description:

Wood frogs can tolerate the freezing of their blood and other tissues. Wood frogs are the only amphibian this far north. Their call in the spring is like a feeding mallard.

Habitat:

Marshes and wet forests

Notes:

They can be very small - the blade of grass is about an inch tall.
