Description:

In this photo, an eastern garter snake can be seen hissing at a perceived threat.

Habitat:

The garter snake can be found throughout the eastern parts of North America. This individual was spotted in the forests of Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania.

Notes:

Diet: Garter snakes primarily feed on fish, birds, frogs, and small mammals.
