Field Notes

Description:

A gorgeous metallic blue and black butterfly. The underside of the wings is brown and leaf-like, it is truly shocking when it opens it's wings with so much color. Family Nymphalidae.

Habitat:

I would have expected to see this in the jungle not in the middle of Mexico City. It was on a "Green Wall" next to the Soumaya Museum, Plaza Carso.
