Description:

I spotted this Madagascan succulent that has what appears to be "leaves" on the trunk. It is a deciduous succulent plant species of the family Didiereaceae. It was in the front yard of a suburban house in Escondido, CA.

Habitat:

Suburban house front yard.

You're right, Madagascar. Not sure of the exact species though. I spotted them in the wild there. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6036970
This is probably a plant from Madagascar just based on things I've seen at the SD Zoo.
