KarenL, now that I looked again, I think you are right...it's not a Gulf Fritillary, but I don't know if it is the great spangled fritillary either...it seems brighter orange. But I really can't say for sure.
It looks like you might have 3 different spottings. Each could be their own spotting.
The yellow and black one looks like a Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) female. The second looks like a Monarch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monarch_(butterfly)
The 3rd one looks like http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7116546 Gulf Fritillary.
