Description:

Although this beetle can be found on several other flowers, it is most often seen on goldenrod. It is one of the most common beetles in the midwest. They feed mostly on flowers, but will also eat caterpillars and small insects. Females lay their eggs in the soil where the larva a predators of other insects.
